The mostly free admission event does have some paid clinics and talks for a small fee.

The event typically takes place in Avon over Memorial Day weekend and celebrates spring as well as a good cause. The one-mile fun run and 5K benefits the Hatteras Island Youth Education Fund and the OBX GO FAR (Go Out for a Run) and winds through Kinakeet Shores, on boardwalks and beach walkways, and you’ll even compromise sand dunes!
