Lighthouse View's Outer Banks beach rentals are only minutes away from some of the best spots in the Island. Kite Point is located just south of the famous Canadian Hole. This spot has some incredible winds and sound water that is only knee deep in many places. This spot is great for evening rides, as the sunsets here are like no other. Cape Hatteras is widely recognized as the #1 place for surfing on the East Coast of the United States. Many surfers call Cape Hatteras, “The Wave Magnet,” as it sits on the dividing line between the North and South Atlantic Oceans and receives swells from the North clockwise all the way through the SW. The consistency and quality of the waves on Hatteras Island make this a great place to learn how to surf. Beginners are taught the full spectrum of surfing, including: paddling techniques, body placement, wave selection, catching a wave, and foot placement as well as surfing etiquette and equipment selection & setup. The shallow and calm waters of the Pamlico Sound offer a great learning location and many local shops offer fun lessons for families.
Kayaking the Pamlico Sound will give you endless opportunities to view some of the most incredible wildlife that Hatteras Island has to offer. Take an eco tour though the marsh grass, paddle the waves in the Atlantic Ocean, or go for a distance paddle in the sound. Sunset cruises are breathtaking on the Pamlico so be sure to bring a camera!
