Before you book we want to take a moment to update you on current beach conditions.

Over the winter and spring our property and the surrounding shoreline experienced severe erosion and ocean overwash. While our team continuously works to maintain the property, these natural changes have impacted beach access and the overall appearance of the shoreline and the property. There is currently very little beach directly behind our main building, exposed sandbags along the shore that meet the water and an old exposed concrete pool. Additionally, several of our oceanfront homes are not currently rentable OR have sandy access areas and limited parking. 

GOOD NEWS: BEACH NOURISHMENT IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN JULY 27th!!!

We’re excited to share, however, that beach nourishment is currently scheduled to begin on July 27. Over the course of the next month, sand will be pumped from a dredge located approximately one mile offshore to help restore and widen our beautiful beach.

Once completed, Lighthouse View will enjoy a significantly larger beach right in front of the property—a wonderful improvement that will enhance your beach experience for years to come. This project is also essential to protecting Hatteras Island’s shoreline and helping preserve future access to the island.

Construction will start at the south end of the Lighthouse View property, with sand being placed northward before crews reverse direction and complete a second pass heading south. This means that we won’t know exact dates the project will be behind our property.

Because your vacation experience matters to us, we want to be very transparent about our resort aesthetics. If the current state of the property is not in line with your expectations, please reach out with any questions.

With that said, please know, our properties and rooms remain clean, safe and welcoming for guests! Hatteras Island has miles of beaches nearby to enjoy and we still have some of the best views of the ocean!
