Vacation Living at Its Finest

Although our motel rooms aren’t as spacious as the cottages and duplexes we offer here in Cape Hatteras, they are still quite large and offer a choice in how you want to live. Offering the room for as many four travelers, guests can choose between a room with roomy king bed, two queen beds, or two doubles. The rooms with two beds are obviously the ones that are designed for four, and as we stated earlier, with the exception of a couple of our rooms, most are located on the ocean, enabling visitors to soak in the serenity of the sea while relaxing and reveling in a wonderful Outer Banks vacation experience. The rooms we offer that aren’t on the ocean will provide their own water views, as those just happen to be poolside rooms!

All the Extras

It is true that our motel rooms do not offer fully equipped kitchens or dining tables for family meals, but they do offer a microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker, so breakfast in bed is still an option for our honeymooners. And when you wake up in the middle of the night thinking of the leftover takeout pizza that is chilling in the mini fridge, you can heat it up, enjoy it in bed, in one of the chairs by the window, or (and this is our favorite option) take it out to your semi private balcony and let the sounds of the waves crashing against sandy shores fill your soul as the delicious pizza fills your belly! Smart televisions make it easy to keep up with your streaming shows, but seriously, except during stormy days and maybe the minutes before you fall asleep at night, you won’t be thinking about the shows you are missing.

Poolside Room 2 Doubles

We stayed in one of the Poolside Queens. Check in and check out was extremely convenient as they just text all the information to you. The room was clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. It sits right on the beach (soooo many seashells), and it is walking distance to several restaurants and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Even though it was too cold for us to enjoy the pool, the spa was very warm and inviting (some of the jets don’t work though). The cats were an added feature that we loved.

Oceanfront King Room 1st Floor

This was an excellent place to stay. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The view from the oceanfront king room was outstanding. Rooms were serviced quickly each morning. It was close enough to walk to a few restaurants (within a mile) and convenience stores were also close. Check in and check out were simple.

Wonderful hotel which has had recent upgraded rooms, very quiet very private and plenty back from the beach. Staff up front is nice, housekeepers are nice, TV service is fine, lots of options just start out with “Spectrum”. Dunes are increased, property feels safe, I can’t wait to return!

Let’s Talk Views

Our Cape Hatteras motel rooms are based on the second and top levels (the lower section is a leggy expanse of open space, no rooms there) of the motel portion of our Lighthouse View home, and we don’t have elevators, but when you see the views of the Pamlico Sound visible from the semi-private deck, we don’t think you will complain. Furnished with two deck chairs and a small table that is the perfect size for wine glasses and snack plates, you can see for what seems like forever, and as you eat your pizza in the middle of the night with the stars twinkling merrily down on you, watch the sun rise in your jammies (Your neighbors will probably be doing the same, Lighthouse View is a no judgement zone!), or watch the sun set after an exciting day of Outer Banks adventures, you will know there is no place else you want to be. The sand, the sea, the salt air all work their magic to make your beach dreams a reality, and long after you return to the chaos of real life, the serenity and tranquility will linger in your heart.

Motel Amenities

Everyone who stays in our Lighthouse View retreats will have access to community amenities, including, of course, a community pool and hot tub. And although there obviously isn’t enough space for a washer and dryer in our motel rooms, we do offer a community laundry so you can still pack light and have room in your suitcases for all the fun souvenirs you will purchase during your stay. Park style grills for family barbecues will add even more fun to your vacation experience, and if you are forced to work while enjoying your beach vacation, all the rooms offer high-speed internet! And unlike our cottages and suites, a three-day stay is not required to stay in our motel rooms.
